
Senior leaders of the Nation Shield forces succeeded today, Thursday, in defusing tribal fighting in Lahj governorate with a massive military campaign.
Local sources told Al-Mashhad Al-Yemeni that the leaders of the brigades and staff led a military campaign consisting of more than 60 military personnel and succeeded in ending the fighting between the Al-Shamaya and Al-Buraima tribes in the Al-Madaraba and Ras Al-Ara districts on the borders of Al-Sabiha district.
The sources indicated that the campaign reached the Al-Majzaa area of Al-Mudaraba and Ras Al-Ara district in order to intervene to stop the tribal fighting between the Al-Shamaya and Al-Barimah tribes.
The sources noted that the two tribes responded to the campaign, which was fully prepared for all possibilities, including the use of military force in the event that any of the parties refused to comply and stop the fighting, and left the barricades against each other.
The sources noted that the campaign was handed over five sheikhs of the Shamaya tribe as hostages, and a truce was taken from today until the twentieth of Dhu al-Hijjah. After the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The campaign, in which he participated, met with great satisfaction among a number of sheikhs, tribesmen, and social figures.
Yesterday, Wednesday, ten people were killed and injured, as a result of tribal clashes that erupted in the Tur Al-Baha and Al-Mudaraba districts in Lahj Governorate, southern Yemen.
Local sources said that a person from the Al-Ma’amiya tribe was killed and seven civilians were injured, as a result of the renewed tribal fighting between the members of the Al-Ma’amiya tribe and the Al-Atwiyin tribe inside the central market of Tur Al-Baha in the governorate’s Tur Al-Baha district.
