
The Court of Cassation in the capital, Rabat, ruled, shortly before noon today, Thursday, to reject the appeal submitted by the defense of Mohamed Zayan, against the appeal ruling, which upheld the sentence issued against him in the first instance by imprisonment for a period of three years.
And after this decision issued by the highest judicial body in the Kingdom of Morocco, the ruling issued against Zayan becomes the possessor of the force of the thing decided.
After this, too, there was no way left for Zayan to evade serving the full sentence, which is three years in force, in addition to paying the financial fine, which is set at 5,000 dirhams, with his being charged at the very least.
Zayan was convicted in both primary and appeal instances for charges and crimes of “insulting the judiciary and public officials on the occasion of carrying out their duties with statements and threats with the intent of undermining their honor, feelings and due respect for their authority, insulting organized bodies, publishing statements to influence the decisions of the judiciary before a judgment is not subject to appeal, and broadcasting false allegations and facts against A woman because of her gender, broadcasting false allegations and facts with the aim of defaming people through information systems, instigating breaches of health emergency measures, participating in marital infidelity, participating in setting a bad example for children as a result of misbehavior, participating in secretly leaving a person from the national territory, and smuggling a criminal from Finding and helping him escape, sexual harassment.”
The court ruled, in the case of the concerned person, to pay a civil compensation to the complainant (N.F), estimated at 100 thousand dirhams, and to pay a symbolic dirham for the benefit of the state.
