A new drop in gold prices in Egypt

Today, Thursday, gold prices in Egypt witnessed a new decline, and the purchase price of the US dollar in the Central Bank of Egypt reached 30.8380 pounds for purchase and 30.9357 pounds for sale.

And the prices of 24 karat gold recorded 2531.25 pounds (purchase), and 2500.75 (for sale), with the addition of an amount of 30 factory pounds per gram. And 21 karat – which is the most widespread in Egypt – recorded an amount of 2215 pounds (purchase), and 2190 pounds (for sale), with an addition of 40 and 60 pounds to each gram. And 18 karat recorded 1924.75 (purchase) and 1898.25 pounds (for sale), with an addition of between 25 and 40 pounds to each gram. And 14 karat recorded 1,393 pounds (for purchase), and 17,720 pounds for sale.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the price of 24 karat gold recorded 2565.25 pounds (purchase), 2500.75 for sale, with the addition of 45 factory pounds per gram. 21 carat recorded 2245 pounds (purchase), and 2200 pounds (for sale), with an addition of between 40 and 60 pounds for each gram. 18 karat recorded about 1924.75 (buy). 18 karat (for sale) recorded 1900.25 pounds, with an addition of between 25 and 40 pounds per gram. 14 karat recorded about 1493 pounds, and the price of a gold pound is 17960 pounds.

And the price of gold has stabilized globally, according to the “Al-Masry Al-Youm” website, so an ounce of gold is currently sold at 1985 dollars.

These declines come after the Egyptian cabinet approved, late last week, a draft resolution to exempt some gold imports from customs tax and other fees, except for value-added tax, for a period of six months.
