Wael Riyad, the general coach of the Olympic team, said that the decision to exclude Gabon from the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations is not good for the Pharaohs.
Riyad indicated in televised statements that the Gabonese national team was an open book for the Pharaohs, especially since there was a friendly confrontation that brought together the elected and its papers were studied.
Chitose stressed that the Cameroonian national team has a distinguished basic strength, and there is a state of determination among its officials to win the case of falsifying the age of the Gabonese player and banishing him from the tournament.
He added, “I learned that some Cameroonian players in Europe will be addressed to participate in the African Nations Championship in Morocco, which will be held next month, hoping to use their services, especially with the end of some European leagues.”
He explained that the Olympic team became in the group of death after Cameroon joined because it has a big name, and that the continental championship will be more difficult than the 2019 edition due to its different timing.
Regarding the features of the team’s preparation for the U-23 African Cup of Nations, Riyad explained that the team will play a camp on July 12 and will witness a friendly match with Ghana.
He added: “The Olympic team will play another friendly against Guinea in Morocco before the start of the tournament, indicating that it is following all the players in the league and the second division league as well as dual nationals born in 2001, 2002 and 2003, and there is a great opportunity to follow all the players if they qualify for the Olympics, which is the expected hope.” Pharaohs in the next stage.
