Al-Ahly and Zamalek
The first handball team of Zamalek Club succeeded in winning the African Cup of Cup Winners’ Cup title, after its valuable victory in the final over its traditional rivals, Al-Ahly Club, with a score of 26-25, in the meeting that was held in Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Hall.
The first half of the match ended with Zamalek ahead of Al-Ahly, 15-11.
Al-Ahly duo expelled Zamalek
The meeting witnessed the expulsion of the duo, Ahmed Adel, the Al-Ahly player, and Ahmed Ramadan Hitler, the Zamalek player, because of their clash of hands on the bench.
The red team advanced to the final match after its semi-final victory over the Moroccan Raja Agadir team, with a score of 36/23, and the red genie had occupied the top of its group in the group stage.
As for the White Knight, it also occupied the top of its group, then defeated the Alexandrian Sporting team in the semi-final match, with a score of 24-25.
And Al-Ahly had won the African Super Cup earlier this month at the expense of its rival, Zamalek, by defeating it 27-24.
The first handball team of Al-Ahly Club has previously won the African Cup of Handball Cup 4 times during its history, while Zamalek won the title on 6 occasions.
