Many fans wondered why Haaland celebrated Manchester City’s qualification for the Champions League final with the Norwegian flag!
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City star, appeared very happy that his team had qualified for the Champions League final, despite not scoring any goal in his team’s quadruple against Real Madrid.
Manchester City defeated Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals at the Etihad Stadium, to set a date with Inter in the 2022/2023 Champions League final.
Haaland was seen walking around with the Norway flag on the field, and as everyone knows this behavior players do after winning tournaments, the flags of national teams are usually celebrated by players when winning a tournament.
The Norway international although there was a lot to be proud of last night, Manchester City are yet to win the Champions League, so why carry the Norway flag?
The Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” explained that the reason is that yesterday was Norway’s national day, as the 17th of May celebrates the Norwegian Constitution Convention in Eidsvoll in 1814.
