Al-Ahly coach Marcel Kohler, the Swiss coach, expressed his happiness at the red team’s qualification to the final match of the African Champions League.
Al-Ahly defeated Esperance of Tunisia, 4-0, in the two-legged aggregate of the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Kohler said in the press conference: “We dominated the course of the game throughout the match, possession was also with us, and we missed many opportunities, but the most important thing is that we achieved victory and qualified for the final match.”
He added, “We do not know who will be our next opponent in the African final, and we will do a comprehensive analysis of how she plays at a later time, and I am very happy with the level of the players.”
Al-Ahly coach explained: “I do not care that Raja missed a penalty kick in his match against us. We started the African Championship with a bad level, but the team developed a lot in the elimination rounds, and we are ready with all strength for the final match.”
And he continued, “We qualified for the final match on merit, and Al-Ahly always plays for the win in any match it plays, and we do not care about the next competitor because we will play for the win.”
And he concluded: “In the upcoming matches in the league competition, some changes will occur in Al-Ahly formation, because I want all players to reach the highest technical and physical readiness, and to avoid exhaustion and injuries due to the pressure of the matches.”
