The statement of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), issued today, Friday, gave good news to Zamalek Club, after its participation in the CAF Champions League for the current season 2022-2023.
Zamalek participated in the African Champions League, and finished third in its group, which included Tunisian Esperance Sportive, Algerian Belouizdad Youth, and Sudanese Merreikh, to bid farewell to the continental competition early.
The second leg matches of the African Champions League semi-finals will be held this evening between Al-Ahly and Esperance, and tomorrow between Wydad Athletic and Mamelodi Sun Downs, after the competition reached its final stages for the new season.
The good news revealed by the federation’s statement issued today, regarding the financial reward after the participation of the first football team in Zamalek Club in the championship this season, as the White Castle coffers are waiting soon.

And the African Confederation confirmed, in an official statement, that Zamalek will receive 700,000 dollars, just like the rest of the clubs that won third place in the four groups of the CAF Champions League this season, after “CAF” decided to increase the financial prizes for the competition to 17.600 million dollars.

The CAF indicated, in the official statement on the 2022-2023 CAF Champions League awards, that they will be distributed as follows:
Champion $4 million
Runner-up: $2 million
Semi-final loser $1.200 million
The loser of the quarter-finals is $900,000
The third group, 700 thousand dollars
The fourth group is $700,000
