The name of Philip Anthony Jones, an English footballer who currently plays for Manchester United, has topped social networking sites during the past hours.

Where Phil Jones spent 12 years in the ranks of the Manchester United team, and he admitted that he had gone through “difficult days” due to injuries, and Jones now regains these memories after it was announced that he would leave the club in the next summer transfer period.

And the British news agency “BA Media” reported that the 31-year-old player will leave Manchester at the end of his contract, after he suffered many injuries during his time at the club.

Defender Jones, who joined Manchester United from Blackburn in 2011, played 229 games, scored six goals for Manchester, and helped the team win the Premier League title once, the FA Cup and the European League.

Jones, who has not yet decided whether he will continue his career as a player, said in an open letter on the social networking site “Twitter”: “It is always difficult to leave a club. I did it already with Blackburn. All these years since he was I’m 19 years old, but I never imagined what was going on.”

“I had a great time with Manchester United,” he added.

And he added, “This is not a time for sadness, but rather to look back on the past, for my family, and to be happy that I was able to live the dream at Manchester United.”

He emphasized: “I always say to my family and friends that not many people can play for this club, to always be part of its history, to look back at the past and remember these happy memories.”

Jones did not play with the team for more than a year, and participated in only 14 matches since the start of the 2019/2020 season, and revealed the injuries that kept him from playing.

He added, “I was hoping to play more and give more to all the teams I played for.”

And he added: “I will say from the bottom of my heart, I did what I could. I did everything the medical system asked of me.”

He emphasized: “I lived a dream in the biggest clubs in the world. I played with the English national team in major tournaments. With Manchester United, I won cups, most notably the English Premier League in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last seasons.”
