The European Football Association (UEFA) has decided the position of the Spanish club Barcelona to participate in the next edition of the European Champions League competitions for the 2024-2025 season, in light of the investigations it is undergoing.
Barcelona is undergoing investigations in the famous “Negrera” case, in which the referees are accused of bribery, and among the expected penalties, if the accusation is proven, is the withdrawal of their license to participate in the Champions League.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, UEFA agreed, after examining the documents submitted, to grant a license to FC Barcelona, with a five-member committee, to participate in the next edition of the Champions League.
Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has been in contact with UEFA and met with Aleksander Ceferin, the federation’s president, on April 20.
