The Minister of Solidarity announces the end of the disbursement of compensation to the families of the victims of the “Kharga – Assiut” accident

Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, announced that the Directorate of Social Solidarity in the New Valley Governorate has completed the disbursement of all compensation to the families of the victims of a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the “Kharga-Assiut” road, which resulted in the death of 18 passengers and the injury of 29 others.

The Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that the prescribed compensations amounting to 100,000 pounds were paid to each family of the deceased. As for the injured, the payment was made according to the length of stay in the hospital, and the percentage of disability in the event of a disability.

The Minister of Social Solidarity had instructed the director of the Social Solidarity Directorate in the New Valley to quickly deal with the repercussions of the accident to help the families, as the Relief Committee of the Directorate of Social Solidarity in the governorate immediately moved to the accident site to inspect it, count the loss of life and help the families.

The General Organization for Social Solidarity in the New Valley had disbursed urgent assistance to the family of each deceased person, amounting to 10,000 pounds, immediately after the accident.

It is worth noting that the accident took place on Thursday, corresponding to May 4, 2023, when a passenger bus collided with a transport truck on the Kharga-Assiut road. 13 men, two women and three children.
