Today, Saturday, the Israeli army spokesman revealed new details about the fire that broke out yesterday in an open area at the Negev Gate.
The army spokesman said in a statement, under an item allowed for publication: “The fire that broke out yesterday evening in an open area at the Negev Gate was caused by an anti-tank missile fired from the northern Gaza Strip,” stressing that there were no injuries or damage.
Israel continues to launch a military operation against the Gaza Strip, which it started suddenly at dawn on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, with the assassination of three senior leaders of the “al-Quds Brigades” – the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – namely Tariq Ezz al-Din, Jihad Ghannam, and Khalil al-Bahtini, in addition to a number of Palestinian citizens, including women and children, were killed by Israeli raids.
During the operation, Israel assassinated other prominent leaders of the Al-Quds Brigades, namely: Ali Ghali, the commander of the missile unit, his deputy Ahmed Abu Daqqa, and a member of the Military Council, Iyad al-Hassani.
For its part, the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip responded, through the joint room, to the assassination of the leaders of the Al-Quds Brigades, with intensive bombardment with hundreds of missiles, of the settlements around the Gaza Strip, Ashkelon, Beersheba, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, the Israeli warplanes launched intense raids on sites belonging to the Al-Quds Brigades, agricultural lands, facilities, and civilian homes.
And the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip resulted in the death of 33 Palestinians, including 6 children and 3 women, and the injury of 147 others, since the start of the military operation.
