The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change wins the Excellence Award in Geographic Information Systems from the American ESRI Institute

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change achieved a distinguished global achievement by winning the SAGA WARD Excellence Award in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), presented by the American ESRI Institute, the world’s leading in the field of geographic information systems.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change stated, in a statement today, that it will receive the award during the ESRI Users Conference for Geographic Information Systems in the world, which is organized by the institute in San Diego, California, USA, from 10 to 14 July.
The Ministry outperformed more than 100,000 institutions around the world by presenting the application of GIS technology in Al Reem Biosphere Reserve.
The Al Reem Biosphere Reserve application is considered one of the best GIS applications on the Internet in the world, as it highlights the importance of the reserve and presents it in the form of a useful, educational and information-rich story.
The application includes dynamic maps, analyses, photos and illustrations that show all aspects of the reserve and its geophysical characteristics, as well as animals, plants and the main components of the reserve, with a focus on highlighting the relationship between man and the biosphere, and creating interest and awareness in society.
Al Reem Biosphere Reserve is considered one of the most important protected areas in the State of Qatar in terms of local and international dimensions. The first and only protected area within this program in the State of Qatar, and one of 30 reserves in 10 Arab countries.
