Tourism expert Hossam Al-Shaer, former head of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, said that there are 3 requirements that must be completed in order to be ready to receive 30 million tourists annually according to the target and plan of the state and to ensure the continuation of the current tourism flows, the most important of which is the rehabilitation of closed hotels and tourist resorts, especially in Sharm El-Sheikh to receive foreign tourists, in addition to the necessity Developing the tourist transport fleet and opening the import of used buses to be ready to transport tourists, especially after the prices of imported tourist buses rose to astronomical numbers.. calling on the Ministry of Finance to grant tax and customs exemptions to import equipment necessary for the development and renovation of hotels up to 15%.
Al-Shaer stressed that the tourist transport file needs a large part of government support, as the Egyptian tourist transport fleet needs quick replacement and renewal operations, especially with many tourism companies and tourist transport companies stopping replacing and renewing their fleet, which they used to replace and change every three or four years. Most of them are satisfied with only carrying out repair and reconstruction operations for their fleet, especially with the huge and terrible rise in the prices of various tourist transport means with the high price of the dollar.
The former head of the Chamber of Tourism Companies added that there are many solutions developed by the owners of tourist transport companies, in coordination with the Chamber of Tourism Companies, to develop temporary and quick solutions to the current crisis, including allowing tourism companies to import used buses of a model of three previous years at most, provided that these buses or means are examined Tourist transportation by specialized technical centers under the supervision of the Ministry of Tourism.
Hussam Al-Shaer explained that this solution is considered a quick solution that contributes to resolving the crisis and getting out of it temporarily until the companies finish replacing and renewing their fleets..and introducing semi-new buses in a much better technical condition than the current fleets.. pointing out that there are many problems facing the tourism sector. It can be solved simply and easily with quick and effective decisions.. so that these decisions, along with financial support, contribute to pushing the tourism sector forward. during the coming period and achieve an expected tourism boom.
