“Despite the assertion of the Head of State and the Ministry of Interior that the Djerba operation is criminal, this party wants to link it to Ennahda.”

Munther Al-Wanissi, deputy head of the Ennahda movement, said, “A certain ideological political party is waging a large and unjust campaign against the Ennahda movement, trying to attach malicious accusations to it, and using its exposed political and media arms to spread lies and fabrication, and the matter has reached the point of calling for the imprisonment of its supporters, eradicating them, killing them, and expelling them from state institutions.”

Al-Wanissi added, in a post published by the Ennahda Movement on its official Facebook page today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, that “despite the President of the Republic and the Ministry of Interior’s assertion that the Djerba operation is criminal, they are trying to attach it to the movement, but it came to one of them that he claimed that Ghannouchi ordered it from his prison.”

Al-Wanissi continued: “They consider that the opportunity is ripe for implementing their dream, which they were unable to achieve for many decades, and to exploit the current political reality to liquidate an opponent who has always defeated them democratically. They want a wedge and strife between the President of the Republic, state institutions, and the Ennahda movement. And whenever they fail, they return to the ball with more ferocity and inhumanity. Now their last campaign is against Ennahda with all their might and malice.”

Al-Wanissi said, “The Renaissanceists are Tunisians, like everyone else. They have the right to live in their homeland, work in it, raise their children, and be subject to the law like other citizens. We are confident that these people will not succeed in their malicious endeavor, and we are confident that the state’s mind will stand with truth and justice, away from the hatred and injustice of these people.”

He added: “This homeland is for everyone, and there is no place for injustice and eradication in it. The torments of the sons of the Renaissance continue to haunt the pillars of the Ben Ali regime and those who supported them, including some of those who are returning to the ball with the current regime, whose machinations are well known.”
