– In the presence of the Prime Minister and development partners.. the conclusion of the process of updating strategies with the multilateral development banks by launching the partnership framework with the World Bank Group and the United Nations for the next five years

– The Minister of International Cooperation participates in the activities of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the celebrations of “Europe Day”

During the past week, the Ministry of International Cooperation witnessed a number of important activities and events at the level of relations with multilateral and bilateral development partners, in light of the role played by the Ministry in supporting the National Development Vision 2030 through international relations and partnerships.

In the presence of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and representatives of development partners, international financing institutions, the private sector and civil society, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, launched the strategic partnership framework with the World Bank Group 2023-2027, and the strategic framework for partnership between Egypt and the United Nations 2023-2027. This marks the conclusion of the process of updating the partnership strategies for the next five years with the multilateral development banks.

The strategy, with the World Bank, aims to support the Arab Republic of Egypt in building innovative paths and sustainable solutions to address development challenges in various sectors, foremost of which is the eradication of poverty, the promotion of comprehensive prosperity for all segments of society, and the creation of conditions conducive to achieving comprehensive, sustainable and resilient green development.

The Strategic Partnership Framework places the Egyptian citizen at the forefront of the development process in pursuit of three main objectives: (1) increasing and improving employment opportunities in the private sector, (2) enhancing investment in human capital, and (3) improving resilience to shocks, In addition to two interrelated axes that support the three main objectives: governance, enhancing citizen participation, and empowering women.

In another context, the United Nations Framework for Cooperation for Sustainable Development represents the tool for planning and implementing cooperation programs between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Nations system in Egypt during the period from 2023 to 2027. It is the most strategic and important tool for planning and implementing activities. The United Nations Development Plan in Egypt through Tanfeedh support The 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and national sectoral strategies, the cooperation framework for sustainable development strategy in Egypt, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and the priorities reflected in the framework of major policies and initiatives, as well as international covenants related to human rights.

In another context, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, participated in the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She also held bilateral meetings with the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, the Saudi Export-Import Bank, and representatives of monitoring and evaluation at the Islamic Development Bank, in light of strengthening Joint efforts and stimulating partnerships with the private sector.

In celebration of “Europe Day” and in appreciation of the Egyptian-European joint relations, the Minister of International Cooperation delivered a speech during the event organized by the Swedish embassy and the European Union delegation on the occasion of “Europe Day” on energy interconnection with Egypt. In another context, the Minister of International Cooperation participated in the launching ceremony of the Arabic version of the book “Daughters of the Nile” at the National Council for Women.

The Ministry of International Cooperation, in accordance with Republic Resolution No. 303 of 2004, is working to develop and strengthen economic cooperation relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and international and regional countries and organizations, proposing criteria and controls for external borrowing and obtaining foreign grants, and following up on local borrowers in use and repayment, as well as following up on beneficiaries. Of foreign grants in use, and management of economic relations of the Arab Republic of Egypt with organizations, bodies and economic cooperation institutions, international financial institutions and specialized agencies of the United Nations.
