The UEFA Licensing Trial Committee (RFEF), composed of five members and chaired by Ignacio Núñez Luque, at its session last Tuesday granted Barcelona the license to participate in the Champions League next season along with 17 other clubs in the Spanish first division.
This comes despite recent doubts about Barcelona’s participation in the tournament in the wake of the bombing of the Negrera case, in which the Catalan club is accused of paying bribes to the referees.
Barcelona had secured itself financially, even if it had not been to participate in the Champions League, through a match against Vissel Coupe in Japan, then a friendly tour in the United States of America, in which coach Xavi Hernandez’s team would play 4 matches, including an important match against Real Madrid.
The Barcelona tour is expected to bring him more money, in addition to confirming his participation in the first classification of the European Champions League, with the generous rewards that this entails, as the Catalan team is about to crown the heart of the Spanish League.
