Samir Othman, the arbitration expert, believes that the snapshot of the Ismaili players’ demand for a penalty kick in the second half of the match against Zamalek deserves an investigation with the arbitration staff and video technology referees “VAR”.
Ismaily had defeated its counterpart, Zamalek, with two goals to one, in the match that was held at Ismailia Stadium on Saturday evening, as part of the 27th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Othman said in televised statements: “The first Ismaili goal is incorrect because there is a clear violation on the attacker, and the mouse explained the situation well to referee Muhammad Adel, who had another opinion.”
He added, “The Zamalek goalkeeper performed a strange and incomprehensible behavior after blocking the Ismaili player without a ball, and the game was a clear penalty kick, and the mouse referees should have summoned Mohamed Adel to review it.”
Samir Othman explained: “The Referees Committee must open an investigation with the refereeing staff for today’s match and the mouse referees, because of the snapshot of Ismaili’s demand for a penalty kick during the events of the second half.”
And he concluded: “With regard to the snapshot of the Zamalek players’ request for a penalty kick during the second half, the referee’s decision is sound, although the ball hit the hand of the Ismaili defender, but it was in its normal position.”
