The Supreme Council of Culture is hosting the Committee for the Protection of Intellectual Property and its rapporteur, Dr. Hossam Lotfy, under the trusteeship of Dr. Hisham Azmy, a symposium entitled “Legal Protection of Trademarks” at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, May 24, in the Council Hall.
The symposium will be moderated by Dr. Elham Mabrouk, a teacher of commercial law at the Faculty of Law, Cairo University, with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Ashmawy, First Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade – Head of the Internal Trade Development Authority, who talks about the role of the Trademarks Authority in protecting foreign trademarks, Dr. Samah El-Meligy, Professor of Procedural Law, Faculty of Law, Cairo University, talks about “Procedural Legal Protection of Trademarks”, and legal researcher Hamada Farahat Abu Youssef talks about “The Lawyer’s Role in Dealing with Legal Violations of Trademarks”.
On the other hand, the Translation Committee of the Supreme Council for Culture, in cooperation with the College of Higher African Studies, Cairo University, in the presence of the committee’s rapporteur, Dr. Anwar Mughith, and Dr. Attia Mahmoud Al-Tantawy, Dean of the College of Graduate African Studies, Cairo University, is holding a round table entitled “The Importance of Translation and Scientific Research in the Humanities.” And that will be at five in the evening, Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Faculty of Higher African Studies, Cairo University, under the auspices of Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Hisham Azmy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture.
The round table discusses the importance of translation and scientific research in the humanities through a number of academic professors, specialists in translation and humanities, most notably Dr. Jihad Mahmoud Awad, Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature and Criticism at the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, Dr. Hussein Mahmoud, Professor of Italian Language, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation Badr University.
