According to the “Business insider” website, the Swedish billionaire added that the same number has increased by about 400% since the beginning of 2023, and as an example, the six podcast episodes of computer scientist Lex Friedman in the last 30 days were discussing artificial intelligence, as their descriptions show.
Friedman co-authored studies on AI while at MIT, but along with his controversial discussions about vaccine safety and gender roles, AI now seems to be taking a higher priority.
In response to a user’s question, Eck said he believes “there will be a lot of tools that will use AI to help, so it will be a big thing on the platform.”
Eck’s tweet came two days after the Financial Times reported that Spotify had deleted tens of thousands of AI-generated songs from Boomy.
But that was only due to “artificial broadcasting”, where bots are used to inflate audience numbers, and 93% of the tracks uploaded by the AI-based music startup remain online.
Notably, Spotify recently launched a new DJ feature, an AI-powered recommendation tool, that uses in part technology from ChatGPT’s creator, OpenAI.
