The artist, Intisar Abdel-Fattah, the president and founder of the International Festival of Drums and Traditional Arts, will hold a press conference to announce the details of the tenth session of the festival, at the Supreme Council of Culture, on Sunday, May 21, at 4:30 pm.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, headed by Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, represented by the Supreme Council of Culture headed by Dr. Hisham Azmy, the Secretary General of the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector headed by Iman Najm, Khaled Jalal, Head of the Cultural Production Sector, Dr. Adel Abdo, Head of the Artistic House for Folklore and Performing Arts, in cooperation with the Dialogue and Arts and Cultures of Peoples Foundation and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities represented by the Tourism Revitalization Authority.
It is scheduled that the artist, Intisar Abdel-Fattah, will announce the countries and teams participating in the festival this year 2023 and the workshops that will take place during it, and the places of residence and performances and the start dates of the festival, which is scheduled to start its activities from May 27 to June 2, in addition to the details of the opening and closing ceremonies and the guest of honor of the festival in addition to the authorities. participation.
It is noteworthy that the ninth session of the Drums Festival was held last May, and a number of artists were honored during the ninth session of the festival. They are from Jordan, the artist Abdo Musa Saleh, from Spain, the artist Paco de Lucia, and from India, the artist Zakir Hussein. The Korea National University for Cultural Heritage will also be honored. And the Association of Friends of the artist Sayed Darwish, and the festival venues were the Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi “Yusuf’s Well”, the Sahn al-Qobba theater “Qobbat al-Ghuri”, Prince Taz Palace, Al-Moez Street, the Child Center for Civilization and Creativity, and the Hanager Square.
The ninth session of the festival had the largest number of participating countries, about 43 diverse teams, including those who came specifically to participate in the festival or teams present in the diaspora in Egypt, in addition to the teams of the Ministry of Culture, the teams of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Egyptian and independent teams from Port Said, Sinai, Suez and Alexandria.
