The Egyptian Prime Minister is tasked with preparing a promotional campaign for yacht tourism

Cairo – Mubasher: Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, continued today, efforts to attract and maximize yacht tourism in Egypt, in a meeting in the presence of Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior, Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, Amr Adel, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, and Reda Ismail, President of Maritime Transport Sector, and Haitham Ahmed Al-Sayed, representing the Ministry of Defense.

The Prime Minister confirmed, in a statement today, that this meeting aims to discuss a number of files related to the yacht tourism sector, within the framework of keenness to maximize the returns of this industry, and to overcome some challenges to accelerate the pace of its launch, as an investment of the promising ingredients that Egypt possesses in this field.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister explained the prior coordination in this file, and the efforts made to facilitate the procedures.

The meeting witnessed a review of a number of measures taken in the direction of formulating a strategy to attract and maximize yacht tourism in Egypt, as well as addressing a number of obstacles and discussing mechanisms to overcome them with the aim of successfully promoting yacht tourism in Egypt in order to enhance the efforts made in this regard.

Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, said that the ministry contributed to the issuance of Prime Minister’s Decree No. 2721 of 2022 regulating foreign yacht tourism in Egypt, and issuing the unified code for the establishment and operation of “ports” and ports for tourist yachts in Egypt, in addition to updating the map of existing and proposed international “ports” locations. At the level of the Republic.

The minister added that the ministry has also launched the digital single window for foreign yacht tourism, pointing out that since its launch and operation since September 1, 2022, it has avoided most of the problems and obstacles that were facing attracting yacht tourism to Egypt, on top of which is reducing the time period required to issue approvals for yachts. to be between 3 or 6 hours.

The minister pointed out that a distinguished work team has been assigned to operate the electronic platform 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to communicate with all concerned parties to complete the procedures to facilitate the owners of foreign tourist yachts coming to Egyptian ports and tourist ports, and to find quick solutions to any problems that may arise, in The framework of keenness to attract more yacht tourism to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in implementation of the presidential directives in this regard.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministries of Transport and Tourism to prepare a promotional campaign for yacht tourism in Egypt, and the efforts that have been made recently to facilitate procedures and overcome obstacles to provide a distinguished tourist trip.
