The report attributed the high growth of Omani liquefied gas exports to the establishment of liquefied units in the Oman LNG Company in Qalhat, operating at full production capacity, which, after removing bottlenecks, reached 11.5 million annually.
The report pointed out that the rise in gas exports from the Sultanate of Oman made the Sultanate of Oman the second largest exporter of liquefied natural gas in the Arab world after the State of Qatar.
The report indicated that the new agreements concluded by Oman LNG mean the company’s success in ensuring the marketing of more than the total quantities contracted in the contracts of Japan and South Korea that expire at the end of 2024.
The Oman LNG Company had concluded 7 new contracts for the sale of liquefied natural gas, with a total quantity estimated at 5.75 million tons annually.
Engineer Wael Hamed said that the Oman LNG Company achieved its best annual performance since the start of its operations, as its annual production jumped to approximately 11.5 million metric tons.
The production of the Oman Liquefied Gas Company in 2022 amounted to approximately 11.5 million tons, which is the highest production rate since the start of the company’s production operations, as it recorded 10.6 million tons in 2021, and 10.2 million tons in 2020.
According to the company’s annual report, the company succeeded in producing 200 thousand tons of natural gas derivatives, and the production locomotives worked at a high rate of 97.6%, and the company was able to deliver about 176 shipments during the past year 2022, an increase of 8% compared to 2021, which amounted to 163 shipments. As 10 shipments were added to the annual production in 2022 as part of the results of the locomotive decommissioning project, it is expected that the number of shipments will reach 12 shipments in the current year.
