An altercation would have developed had it not been for the intervention of Pep Guardiola’s friend
Frenchman Patrice Evra, the former Manchester United player, recorded a remarkable presence during the Manchester City and Real Madrid confrontation, starting with the red suit he was wearing, the color his former club was famous for, ending with an altercation between him and the Manchester City coaching staff.
Evra came to the Etihad Stadium in red clothes to the CBS Sports studio, which exposed him to ridicule from his colleagues, led by Gary Carragher, who described him as the colored extras.
After City’s four-way victory over Real Madrid and qualified for the final with a total score of 5-1, a video appeared of Patrice, apparently in an altercation between him and the City coaching staff.
Evra seemed a little excited before Manel Estearte, a member of Pep Guardiola’s apparatus and close friend who accompanied him throughout his career, managed to calm him down after Manel retired from the water polo game in which he was an Olympic champion and won the nickname “Water Maradona”.
Patrice justified what happened after the meeting, saying: “He was looking at me as if he was saying this to you.” He continued, “I approached him and asked him about the secret of his extreme anger, and he told me because you criticized us last season.”
Manel appeared trying to calm Evra and they shook hands after their conversation, which was quarrelsome at the beginning, and then parted.
