The Kuwaiti dinar exchanged, to record 99.55 pounds for purchase, and 100.46 pounds for sale, and the price of the European euro fell 8 piasters against the Egyptian pound, to record 33.29 pounds for purchase, 33.46 pounds for sale, and the price of the pound sterling fell against the Egyptian pound, to achieve 38.32 pounds for purchase, 38.53 pounds for sale.
Decisions of the Monetary Policy Committee in its previous meetings of the current year 2023
- The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt decided, in its meeting on Thursday, corresponding to February 2, 2023, to keep the rates of the overnight deposit and lending return and the price of the main operation of the Central Bank at the level of 16.25%, 17.25% and 16.75%, respectively. The credit and discount rate was kept at 16.75%.
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt decided, in its meeting on Thursday, corresponding to March 30, 2023, to raise the rates of the overnight deposit and lending return and the price of the main operation of the Central Bank by 200 basis points, to reach 18.25%, 19.25%, and 18.75%, respectively. The credit and discount rate was raised by 200 basis points to 18.75%.
