Today, Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his confidence in winning the second round of the upcoming presidential elections by a “large margin.”
“We will comfortably exceed the required number and we will achieve victory,” Erdogan told a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party.
“We will not let human dignity descend to the ground, and we will not leave the field to people who want to undermine the Turkish homeland and society,” he added.
complaints from the opposition
In a related context, the opposition Republican People’s Party said that it had submitted complaints about suspected irregularities in thousands of ballot boxes during the elections that took place on Sunday, in which Erdogan achieved better results than expected.
But party officials said it was likely that the complaints would not change the outcome of the presidential elections, which will witness a run-off on May 28 between Erdogan and his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Erdogan won 49.51% of the vote in the first round of the presidential elections, while the candidate of the Nation Alliance, Kemal Kilicidaroglu, won 44.88%.

Erdogan says that only he can ensure stability in Turkey at a time when it is facing a crisis related to the high cost of living, high inflation, as well as the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck the country in February.
The opposition alliance, which includes the Republican People’s Party (CHP), urged young voters to come out to support Kilicdaroglu in the run-off.
