Business Insider published a plan for what it said was a secret bunker built under a luxurious palace for Russian President Vladimir Putin overlooking the Black Sea in anticipation of a nuclear threat.
According to the site, the secret hideout was revealed by mistake when a Russian contractor company published plans for the luxurious palace on its website as part of a presentation of the projects it had completed in early 2010.
The plans – published by the now-defunct Russian “Metro Style” company, and re-published by “Business Insider” yesterday – show two converging tunnels extending under Putin’s luxurious palace, which had previously been revealed through an investigative investigation conducted by the exhibitions. Russian Alexei Navalny and made a splash in Russia.
And the American site highlighted that despite all the means of luxury available in the “imperial palace” and the fortifications that make it a fortified fortress, those who built it neglected an important matter, as they failed to hide the plan that shows the two tunnels beneath it, which is assumed that any apparatus specialized in state security will fight in order to maintain its confidentiality.
The architectural plans published by the site reveal the details of the fortified bunker built under Putin’s palace, consisting of two separate tunnels, linked by an elevator that descends to a depth of 50 meters underground. It also reveals that the two tunnels, built with thick layers of concrete, are equipped with amenities, sufficient fresh water, necessary ventilation, and spacious cabins to host VIPs for days and possibly weeks.
The illustrations published by the site show the exits of the two tunnels directly below the palace, which was built on a hill overlooking the Black Sea.
The Anti-Corruption Center in Russia, headed by Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, published an investigative report in January 2021 about a luxurious palace for President Vladimir Putin, revealing details about the palace and corruption in the circles of power, which caused a sensation in Russia.
The investigation, which was published in videos titled “Putin’s Palace”, included details about the luxurious mansion built on a vast area in the Gelendik resort on the Black Sea in the south of the country.
The film showed documents indicating that the cost of constructing the palace, which was built on an area equivalent to 44 times the size of the Principality of Monaco, amounted to $1.3 billion, paid by state oil companies and businessmen close to the Russian president.
