In a speech at a ceremony commemorating the ‘martyrs of the Revolutionary Guards’, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, mentioned the assassination of Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad in 2020 in an American drone attack and said that Iran had already landed its first blow, by firing missiles at bases in Iraq where a number of American soldiers were stationed days after the elimination.
“They received the first slap, and the second will be their gradual withdrawal from the region, but the last slap is yet to come,” he said.
Soleimani was the commander of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards, and was the mastermind of the Iranian regime’s strategy to build a proxy network in the Middle East, which consisted of armed militias, Shiite groups and the Syrian government.
Soleimani invested heavily in the Iraqi chaos after the death of dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003, ordering his militia forces to launch attacks against US forces in the country. When these attacks intensified in late 2019, former US President Donald Trump ordered his assassination, which was a blow It is difficult for the regime.
Salami continued to emphasize the attacks against Israel. “These days, fire is coming down on Israelis from Gaza, but the Zionists are unable to do anything and are helpless, and America has also left the region.”
Salami’s statement comes as the US and Israel are closely cooperating on intelligence matters, and are conducting large joint military exercises. Salami also warned that “no one can prevent our maritime trade, and if that happens, we will close accounts anywhere in the world.”
“Nigeria is so happy to see this day, the operation to separate these conjoined twins, and I am also so happy on behalf of the government of Nigeria to state that we are expecting a very successful operation. We thank the medical team led by Dr. Al-Rabia and all the staff involved in this operation. May Allah bless them, bless their efforts, bless the kingdom, and bless all the people of Saudi Arabia. Nigeria will forever remain grateful for this kind humanitarian act.”
The ambassador added: “We understand that a number of steps have been carried out successfully and look forward to successfully completing the remaining steps.”
