Today, Thursday, channels and media affiliated with the Iranian regime reported that the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence service, Hussein Taeb, was dismissed from his position, and at the same time, there were unconfirmed reports of an assassination attempt and his transfer to hospital after being injured.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli media had said a few days ago that Taeb was behind attempts to target Israelis in Turkey
On Monday, Israeli security authorities revealed information that reached intelligence services in Tel Aviv, according to which the Iranian official who was assigned to carry out operations targeting Israeli citizens in Turkey, on the territory of Turkey and elsewhere, is Hussein Taeb, head of the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence service, and that he is under follow-up.
The reports stated that “Taeb is known for a long history of abuse and intimidation and is considered a cruel and lethal leader. The Israeli intelligence is following him well. It has decided to announce its position on him as a kind of warning and threat, and perhaps announcing the intention to liquidate him,” according to what the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported.
This comes at a time when Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz stressed last Saturday that “Israel is ready to respond with massive strikes to any harm to its citizens, wherever they are.”
Designer of murder plans and mafia plots
Taeb was born in 1963 in Tehran, and the Iranian opposition accuses him of being the architect of murder plans and mafia plots in the Wilayat al-Faqih regime, as well as the author of the plans to kill Christian priests and the explosion of the Imam Reza shrine.
The Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization revealed on November 17, 2020: that Taeb fabricated the file of the murder of priests in 1988, as he was behind the killing of Reverend Hayek Hospian Mehr, Reverend Mehdi Dibaj, and Bishop Michaelian, and then launched a fictitious TV script to accuse the “PMOI”. “.
The organization stated that on August 26, 2016, Mahdi, the son of Mullah Khazali, who held several responsibilities for many years in the Iranian regime, admitted that the killing of Christian priests was designed and carried out by the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence.
Taeb was a former commander of the “Basij” forces (People’s Paramilitary Forces), as well as the Deputy Minister of Intelligence in the Revolutionary Guards, from 2009 until 2019, he was promoted from Deputy Minister of Intelligence to Head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence Service.
In conjunction with the formation of the intelligence service, another intelligence service was formed in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard called the “Deputy Strategic Intelligence” headed by Brigadier General Hassan Mahagi, but with the appointment of Hossein Salami to the position of commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in 2019, the intelligence organization of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards was merged and Deputy Minister of Strategic Intelligence, and Taeb was appointed as head of intelligence in the Revolutionary Guards.
