Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announces the arrival of US HIMARs missile launchers in Ukraine.
Today, Thursday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced the arrival of US “HIMARS” missile launchers to Ukraine to strengthen the military arsenal in the face of the Russian military operation, as he put it.
“The HIMARS has arrived in Ukraine. Thank you to my colleague and friend Lloyd Austin (his US counterpart) for these powerful tools,” Reznikov wrote in a tweet, attaching his message to a photo of this light-armored mobile launcher system.
A few days ago, the Russian ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said in an article for “Newsweek” magazine, that the transfer of weapons to Ukraine is “a path to confrontation between Russia and the United States.”
Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, the volume of US military support to Ukraine has reached $5.6 billion, according to a report issued by the Pentagon on June 17.
Last May, Biden signed the Ukraine Lend-Lease Act, which was designed after congressional approval to simplify the provision of military assistance to Kyiv.
